Hallmarked for its beaming presence, the colour yellow allures with its illuminating essence. It is associated with the more pleasant things in life and kindles joy and happiness. Yellow is everything I want to be.

My self-portrait work in the yellow dress is created around my personal development journey as I try to improve myself through life. I grew up with twisted ways of thinking, confusion from an emotionally unstable home and lacked self-love. These issues were deep-rooted and it took major catalysts in my life to trigger the need for change. Perhaps it was serendipity when I found this dress. I had no idea a colour would influence me in this way and become part of my growth journey. I am heavily inspired by this colour, and all the good it represents - It has helped me find my voice as a human & creative and allows me to share my message with others so that they too can find their potential.

Through these self-portrait creations in yellow, I am able to express my feelings and tell relatable stories of heartbreak, unconditional moments of love, finding courage, and saying yes to new experiences that go beyond my comfort zone I have learned to properly love myself after a life of chaos and have found an unwavering passion by creating with this dress.
