“So when you hit that rock bottom moment, I think you, it doesn't matter if it's with your career or your relationships or whatever, you're at rock bottom, and you're at this place where you just feel like you have no one, you're completely alone. And you're just faced with yourself, like you're faced with all those inner demons that you have. And we all have them. And I feel like this is the defining moment of where people either blossom into this amazing person or they go down even further and they go down the wrong path. And I think when you're when you're at the rock bottom, you have to make like a choice there….”

Overview

Sarah Lyndsay, a landscape and self-portrait photographer, shared her journey of personal transformation and how it led her to incorporate self-portrait photography into her work. She started experimenting with placing herself in landscape scenes using the long exposure technique in 2019, during a period when her life was turned upside down. She began with a white dress and later found the yellow dress that would become her signature outfit. She saw the yellow dress as a symbol of positivity and happiness, representing the person she wanted to become. Sarah believes in the power of purpose and wants to deliver a message of self-awareness through her work and social media.

When I asked Sarah Lyndsay to be on The Landscape Photography Show, I knew exactly what she was going to be like; a fun, bubbly personality that had a unique vision for her photography. Sarah didn’t disappoint.

One topic we discussed was Sarah’s new adventure into the world of YouTube. I knew her YouTube channel was going to be educational and entertaining because I’ve been watching her Instagram stories for a long time now. However, I was interested to hear how she was discovering some of the difficulties of filming while capturing a photo at the same time. Her thoughts and ideas actually gave me encouragement and new ideas for film making on YouTube.
